Fic: Sterling, Part One: Dull (Harry Potter, Pansy/Ginny, PG-13)

Title: Sterling, Dull
Part: 1/3
Rating: PG-13
Warning: None
Pairing: Pansy/Ginny, which is, at least for me, a rather rare pairing
Date: July 2003
Author's Note: Inspiration for these fics struck this morning while the kids were doing centers, in the form of Lustrous, which actually ended up being the third story in this series. Set during OotP, right after the Gryffindor/Ravenclaw Quidditch game. Dull is the only story that has actual spoilers for OotP, though – it's just to give you a frame of reference.
No, this story is not all about Quidditch. I cannot write Quidditch!fic as well as other people can.

Sterling, Part One: Dull )

Fic: Sterling, Part Two: Polish (Harry Potter, Pansy/Ginny, NC-17)

Title: Sterling, Polish
Part: 2/3
Rating: NC-17
Warning: None
Pairing: Pansy/Ginny
Date: July 2003
Author's Note: Sort of a companion, a middle piece, if a drabble can count as a middle piece. Sneaking in at 570 words, this piece is all about graphic girlsex, and the title refers to what you do to tarnished silver, not to people from Poland.

Sterling, Part Two: Polish )

Fic: Ribbons (Harry Potter, McGonagall/Dumbledore, PG)

Title: Ribbons
Rating: PG
Warning: None
Pairing: There's an implied het pairing, sort of.
Date: July 2003
Author's Note: This is a fic with no point really, except that the first and last lines came to me and it wanted to be longer than a drabble. A bit of a peek inside Minerva McGonagall's head, throughout OotP. McGonagall loves and hates, at the same time.

Ribbons )

Fic: My Name is Not Voldie (Harry Potter, gen, PG)

Title: My Name is Not Voldie
Rating: PG
Warning: None
Pairing: None
Date: July 2003
Author's Note: I meant for this to be a humorfic, but as usually happens (and as happened with Harry Potter and the Pathetic Excuse for a Wizard), some serious/angst/drama snuck in anyway. So this isn't nearly as gratuitously stupid as I planned it to be, but it's pretty pointless anyway.

My Name is not Voldie )

Fic: Keeping His Dinner Warm (Harry Potter, various, PG-13)

Title: Keeping His Dinner Warm
Rating: PG-13
Warning: None
Pairing: Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny, mentions of Harry/Draco and Harry/Snape
Date: July 2003
Author's Note: More humour, which hopefully comes out a bit funnier than my last attempt. Introducing homemaker!Hermione, blatantlygay!Harry, overworked!Ron, and liveandletlive!Ginny.

Keeping His Dinner Warm )

Fic: Thinking Tears (Harry Potter, Cho/Katie, PG-13)

Title: Thinking Tears
Rating: PG-13
Warning: None
Pairing: Cho/Katie, Cho/Harry, Katie/Alicia
Date: July 2003
Author's Note: Set during OotP; begins on the first Friday of the term, and ends sometime in the spring. This is completely, utterly, and totally [info]paranoidkitten's fault. It is her fault for a) suggesting Cho/Katie, b) suggesting Katie/Alicia, c) suggesting nonsexual Cho and Cedric, d) for agreeing that canon!Cho is a pathetic slob in OotP, and e) for liking my fanfic. oh, and f) because it's dedicated to her

Thinking Tears )

Fic: To Understand (The Baby-Sitters Club, Dawn/Sunny, NC-17)

Title: To Understand
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Dawn/Sunny
Date: July 2003
Author's Note: Slashing Harry Potter is one thing. The kids are young in some of the books, sure, but somehow it fits with the newness of the magical world and the dark themes that have always been present. Slashing The Saddle Club is something else. Okay, so Carole, Lisa, and Stevie are twelve and thirteen in that series, but they are older in the Pine Hollow series, so maybe it's not such an awful thing.
Slashing The Baby-Sitters Club, on the other hand, is perhaps inexcusable, and great amounts of fun.

So I did the writing, but [info]paranoidkitten laid the inspiration, and therefore if you're going to flame, it's only fair that she gets one too. :)

Set in California, three years after The Baby-Sitters Club, making Dawn and Mary Anne sixteen and juniors in high school, and Jeff thirteen and in eighth grade.

To Understand )

Fic: To Know (BSC, Mallory/Marnie Skyedottir, PG-13)

Title: To Know
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Mallory Pike/Marnie Skyedottir
Date: July 2003
Author's Note: Set roughly the same time as my fic To Understand – the end of Mallory's freshman year in high school. She's still at boarding school. This makes the rest of the BSC (minus Jessi) at the end of their junior years.
Now, this character thing is the hard part. Marnie Skyedottir, Mallory's girlfriend in this story, is borrowed from Nancy Werlin's novel Locked Inside, which is a companion to her novel The Killer's Cousin, both of which I recommend. According to canon, Marnie attended a celebrity school around age 11, when her mother Skye died, and then when she was 16, she went to another school called Halsett Academy for Girls, also in Massachusetts, which is where Locked Inside takes place. I'm playing with the canon in that we'll pretend that Marnie attended Mallory's boarding school for this year, when they were both freshmen. So I guess in that way, it's sort of a crossover.

Also, I realize the canon error – that Mary Anne and Logan have already broken up by now – but I'm keeping it in because, well, we'll call it AU.

Fic: Rainfall (Harry Potter, Hermione/Ginny, NC-17)

Title: Rainfall
Rating: NC-17
Warning: Femslash ahoy
Pairing: Hermione/Ginny, Hermione/OC
Date: August 2003
Author's Note: Songfic, based on Dar Williams' song "The Beauty of the Rain," from her latest CD by the same title. This fic has been running its way through my head ever since I heard the song for the first time. All lyrics belong to Dar Williams, distributed by Razor & Tie Direct, L.L.C., 2003. No infringement of copyright is intended. No money, profit, or wage is garnered from the use of Ms. Williams' fantastically beautiful lyrics.
Written in second person Hermione POV, which is unusual for me. I don't use second person much, and my Hermione/Ginny is usually relegated to Ginny's POV, so this is something new all around.

Fic: Ink, Part 1: The Colour of Your Heart (Harry Potter, various, PG-13)

Title: Ink, Part 1: The Colour of Your Heart
Part: 1/4
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Ron/Hermione, unrequited-Harry/Ron, unrequited-Ginny/Hermione
Date: August 2003
Author's Note: Harry's POV. Based on and inspired by the following lines in OotP.
"... And it might have been a good idea to mention how ugly you think I am too," Hermione added as an afterthought.
"But I don't think you're ugly," said Harry, bemused.

And thus, with some slashification in mind, the Ink series was born. This is set in a bit of an AU, in which the war has been won and everything is lah-dee-dah (which happens in the rapid covering of the more than two years).

Ink, Part 1: The Colour of Your Heart )

Fic: Ink, Part 2: The Colour of Water (Harry Potter, various, PG-13)

Title: Ink, Part 2: The Colour of Water
Part: 2/4
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Ron/Hermione, unrequited-Harry/Ron, unrequited-Ginny/Hermione
Date: August 2003
Author's Note: Ginny's POV.

Ink, Part 2: The Colour of Water )

Fic: Ink, Part 3: The Colour of Glass (Harry Potter, various, PG-13)

Title: Ink, Part 3: The Colour of Glass
Part: 3/4
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Ron/Hermione, unrequited-Harry/Ron, unrequited-Ginny/Hermione
Date: August 2003
Author's Note: Ron's POV.

Ink, Part 3: The Colour of Glass )

Fic: Ink, Part 4: The Colour of Winter (Harry Potter, various, R)

Title: Ink, Part 4: The Colour of Winter
Part: 4/4
Rating: R
Pairing: Ron/Hermione, unrequited-Harry/Ron, unrequited-Ginny/Hermione
Date: August 2003
Author's Note: Hermione's POV

Ink, Part 4: The Colour of Winter )

Fic: You Learn (BSC, various, NC-17)

Title: You Learn
Rating: NC-17
Warning, pairing: Carolyn/Charlotte, Marilyn/Charlotte, unrequited-Marilyn/Carolyn twincest.
Date: August 2003
Author's Note: This came out a lot darker and more depressing than I intended it to be, and frankly, I'm not sure that I like it. I was rereading Mary Anne and the Great Romance (#31) and thought, "Hey, I can write BSC twincest and experiment with second-person POV at the same time!" Now that I've finished it, I also think the twincest ended up being the lesser element and the story could do without it, but there isn't enough twincest in BSC fanfic.
Set eight years after the BSC series, mainly so that my slashing tendencies are not entirely pedophilic. This is my first time with the second-person POV, so in case it came out really shaky, this story is told from Marilyn's viewpoint.

Fic: A New York Minute (BSC, Dawn/Kristy, PG)

Title: A New York Minute
Rating: PG-13
Warning, pairing: Kristy/Dawn, Kristy's POV, first-person narration
Date: August 2003
Author's Note: Set during #18, Stacey's Mistake, specifically the scene where Stacey divides them up into separate beds for their first night in New York. The How Dawn/Kristy Happened universe is borrowed from [info]paranoidkitten.

A New York Minute )

Fic: Wrong (Harry Potter, Minerva/Narcissa, NC-17)

Title: Wrong
Rating: NC-17
Warning: Femslash
Pairing: Minerva/Narcissa, Narcissa/Lily, James/Lily
Date: September 2003
Author's Note: Probably the most unusual pairing I've ever written, with the exception of Pansy/Ginny in Sterling. I've taken some liberties with the ages of the students, namely that I've decided that Narcissa is only a year older than Lily. Fanon tends to assume that she's the same age as Lucius, who was six years older than the Marauders, but I don't think I'm directly contradicting canon. Written for the [info]hp_girlslash Summer of Smut Challenge.

Wrong )

Fic: Awkward (RPFS, Bonnie Wright/Emma Watson, PG-13)

Title: Awkward
Rating: PG-13
Warning: Oh, is this embarrassing or what. I've written RPS. Horribly underage completely inexcusable femmy RPS. Technically, I suppose, it's not necessarily underage, because I didn't specify a year or a movie, but ... yeah, it's horribly underage. I can't get away with that.
All fictional, so for God's sake, don't go writing e-mails to Daniel Radcliffe asking if his trailer door really has a camera to make sure he doesn't get murdered in his sleep.
Pairing: Emma Watson/Bonnie Wright
Date: September 2003
Author's Note: This is for [info]nest_freemark, because it is definitely her fault.

Awkward )

Fic: Expectations (BSC, Claire/Jenny, PG-13)

Title: Expectations
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Claire Pike/Jenny Prezzioso.
Date: September 2003
Author's Note: Little sister slash ahoy, but it's very light slash. The real problem with little sister slash is that it's hard to keep the kids in character between age five and age eighteen. (Especially Claire Pike. Try incorporating her silly-billy-goo-goo propensity into an 18-year-old. It cannot be done.)
Set thirteen years after the Baby-Sitters Club series. Jenny Prezzioso is 17 and Claire Pike is 18, but they're in the same class for reasons that are explained in the fic. Inspired by the following line from BSC #4: Mary Anne Saves the Day: "And Jenny tries hard, but she just isn't what her mother wants her to be." This, of course, was before Ann M. wrote Jenny as the stereotypical brat.

Expectations )

Fic: Dark Grey (SVU, Alex/Olivia, PG-13)

Title: Dark Grey
Rating: PG-13
Warning, pairing: Alex Cabot/Olivia Benson. You can also read John Munch/Fin Tutuola and some Alex Cabot/Abbie Carmichael, if you try. Set after season 5 episode 4, "Loss."
Date: October 14, 2003
Author's Note: My first 24-hour-post-episode fic. This fic contains obvious spoilers for the episode and for the exit of actress Stephanie March. I had to write this, but I can't believe it. I think denial might be a better place to be.
Dedicated very, very much so to [info]stabswithspoon, who enjoyed my last fic so much.
