Fic: Friends and Lovers (The L Word, Alice/Shane, PG)

Title: Friends and Lovers
Fandom: The L Word

Fic: Clueless (The L Word, Bette/Alice, PG-13)

Title: Clueless
Fandom: The L Word
Pairing: Bette/Alice
Rating: PG-13
Notes: Written for [info]paranoidkitten, who requested "Bette/Alice, their canon pre-Tina relationship" in the fandom drabble challenge. ~ 400 words. I am not a huge fan of the title. Also, if anyone can give me good estimates on Bette and Alice's ages, I'd be grateful. I think Bette is about 38, but I've always assumed Alice is in her late twenties, and when I did the math I realized it didn't add up.

Fic: Wonder Why You Haven't (The L Word, Alice/Dana, Tonya/Dana, PG-13)

Title: Wonder Why You Haven't
Fandom: The L Word

Rating: A hard PG-13, I guess. I have trouble deciding.
Notes: Set during episode 2x05, "Labyrinth." Title from R.E.M.'s song "Stand."

Fic: The Good Things (The L Word, Dana/Alice, R-ish)

Title: The Good Things
Pairing: Dana/Alice, mentions of Alice/Gabby, Lisa/Alice, Andrew/Alice, Dana/Lara, Dana/Tonya
Rating: Light R-ish
Setting: Post-"Limb From Limb"
Words: 1989
Notes: I'm perpetually dissatisfied with my titles. Originally this one was called In A Year, because it was supposed to be about all the people they'd had sex with all season, but then I couldn't figure out what month the show actually started in (the weather all looks the same in LA), so that sort of ruined the "year" motif. The title I ended up with seemed better, but suggestions are welcome.

She didn't expect this to happen. Not like this, anyway. Sure, there was the one odd time in college that she thought about it, but no, it didn't happen. And it sure didn't happen like this.

The look on Eric's face when she broke up with him rips through her. He asked for a reason, and she couldn't give him one. It's not that she feels bad about leaving him, as she suspects he wouldn't feel terribly bad about leaving her either. But she knows why. He doesn't.

The earring burns warm between her fingers. Tina picks up the phone.

She didn't expect this to happen. Not like this, anyway. She knows that Bette is far more stunning and vivacious than she is. But she foolishly believed that something about her would be enough to keep Bette with her.

She tries to imagine life without Bette. No coffee kisses in the morning, no rolling into her curls and legs in bed, no long fingers and a band of cool metal stroking her hair when she can't sleep. Her throat lurches at the thought of leaving all that.

But the alternative hurts too much, and so she picks up her suitcase.
